Funds promote energy efficiency for farmers and small business.
Ray Wendover was awarded $61,000 to purchase a Bergey Excel 10kW class wind turbine [from Hudson Valley Wind Energy]. The project is expected to generate 12,836kW per year covering 101 percent of the business' energy.
"These grants will help local farmers and rural small businesses cut costs and become more energy efficient," said [Congressman] Murphy. "Working to cut our energy costs and dependence on foreign oil is critical to rebuilding our economy and strengthening agriculture and small business."
